About Lydia Buchanan

I come from Yuma County, Arizona, where my family's farming background instilled in me a strong work ethic and deep-rooted values. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Accounting, where I also honed my leadership skills as Treasurer of my sorority and a member of the Student Council Speaker Committee.

After being involved in the copper industry as a Cost Accountant I started my construction journey in Yuma, Arizona working with a builder of a condo development, from there I became the Accounting Manager for a large national developer who was building a 55+ community in Oceanside, CA which included an 18 hole executive golf course and building over 400 homes a year.  My personal career journey as a General Contractor begain in 1986, back in Yuma, AZ, where I used all my knowledge of understanding of home construction, quality craftsmanship, and the overall building process. I moved to Salem, OR in 1988 and began building homes there.  I became the President of the local Home Builders Association, further expanding my expertise in housing development, market trends, and home valuation. My commitment to the industry led me to serve on the City of Salem Housing Councils, as well as committees for both the State of Oregon and the National Home Builders Association.

My background in construction, home development, and finance gives me a competitive edge whether it is selling your home or finding you a new home. I don’t just list homes—I strategically position them in the market to attract the right buyers and maximize your return. With my deep industry knowledge, I can highlight the craftsmanship, potential, and unique features of your home in a way that truly resonates with buyers.

I have lived in Fallbrook, owned an investment condo in downtown San Diego, lived in 4 homes in Coronado, one home in Rancho Bernardo and currently reside in home #2 in Poway  My son lives in Escondido so I have an intimate understanding of the market and trends in these areas.  I also work  in New Constructon Home sales, using my construction background to help clients understand the terminology and the construction process. That keeps me up to date with what is pretty much going on in all of mid/north San Diego County.
